Sippy the Genius
Our own Sippy, aka Sarah Pernick, has completed her sophomore studies at Michigan State University. The really cool part is that she closed this semester with a 3.8 and made the Dean's List! When asked how she accomplished this feat, she said, "I went to the library and studied every night." Now it's off to a NOLS semester in Wyoming and Utah. Give her a ring and congratulate her on a job well done.

Cheat Fest

Well, it's a bit late for Christine, but I just though I would let everyone know how much fun Cheat Fest was for me....and others, especially trainees(See Exhibit A). I love jumping up and down while listening to Blue Grass. Also, I've attached some evidence of the good time that was shared at the Stoney Creek Rendezvous. Note to beer vender: never leave an open beer truck around a bunch of boaters at the Stoney Creek and then leave. (I hope this is not incriminating).

What's with the lull?
Hey all,
I, for one, am getting tired of trying to procrastinate by looking at this blog and then no one else being on here. I realize that the weather is beautiful, the season is picking up, and everyone is going boating, but here in Syracuse I'm writing term papers in the library and listening to frat boys barbeque and girls with pearl earrings talk on pink cell phones. Where are Lou's sarcastic comments? Pictures of boating? Recounts of Cheat Fest antics? etc.
I also wanted to let everyone know - who already didn't - that I'll be up here for the summer. I'm taking an independent study (bad decision), relearning French, and working at the Oneida Lake park just north of the city. I tried to work on the Black, but it costs like $150 plus first aid and CPR certifications to meet state requirements for guides here, and I just don't have that sort of money to throw down up front. But the park pays well, and is excited to have me help them start their fishing and recreational kayak rental program (and lose my spirit in the process, likely), and I'll be the "shift leader" of some ambiguous duty over other summer employees. I don't get it. Hopefully I'll also learn to sail and get enough sun to keep me sane, and be able to make at least trips down to the Pyle (don't worry, I've already asked off for B&G).
So keep me posted, will ya?! And if anyone wants to come up to do some upstate whitewater, you can crash on my couch (it folds out, I'm kind of a big deal).
By the way, when I mapquested how long it would take me to get from here to Ohiopyle, it had the ending destination as Garrett Street. Turns out the WV compound is the center of town.
Oh, and Ruth, I will call you back soon. I promise.
Peace,
Christine
